Loose Parts Play: The Freedom That Turns “NOTHING” into “EVERYTHING”
A unique hands-on workshop dedicated to loose parts play, presented by Dr. Chrystalla Papadimitriou from the European University Cyprus. The workshop is designed for both children and educators/parents, offering creative ideas and practical approaches to free and imaginative play that supports children’s creativity, learning, and development.

The Ypsonas Youth Multipurpose Center is organizing a special workshop titled “Loose Parts Play: The Freedom That Turns ‘NOTHING’ into ‘EVERYTHING’” on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
The workshop will be led by Dr. Chrystalla Papadimitriou, Chair of the Department of Education Sciences and Assistant Professor at European University Cyprus. Through this interactive experience, participants will explore the philosophy of loose parts play — an approach that uses everyday materials and objects to encourage creativity, imagination, problem-solving, and independent learning in children.
The event includes two separate workshop sessions:
Workshop for Children Time: 10:30 – 11:30 Participation Fee: €10 Workshop for Educators and Parents Time: 11:45 – 13:30 Participation Fee: €10
The workshops will take place on the 1st floor of P.O.K.E.N.Y., and all participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
